Celebrate National Consumer Protection Week 2011 with BBB!

The 13th celebration of National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW) will be taking place this year from March 6-12, 2011. Along with numerous other government organizations and nonprofits across the country, BBB goes the extra mile in encouraging every consumer to take full advantage of their consumer rights and make better-informed purchase decisions.

BBB will be participating in numerous speaking engagements, community events and media appearances across Central, coastal and Southwest Texas. We want to invite you to join us for a wealth of tips and information on one or more of the following hot consumer-driven topics:

-Staying Safe Online

-Money Management

-Avoiding Identity Theft

-Understanding Mortgages

-How to Best Modify a Loan or Debt Amount

-Steering Clear of Frauds and Scams

-Advice for Buying a New Car

-First-Time Home Buying Tips

-Investing Money for Retirement

If there is another consumer topic that you’re interested in hearing about during NCPW this year, please let us know.  Or if you have a community or business that would benefit from us coming to speak during NCPW, we’d love to help. Email Lydia Hekman, lhekman@austin.bbb.org or call us at 512-206-2823 to book one of our professionals.

Stay tuned for more details – we’ll be sharing the NCPW event and media appearance schedule soon!
