In the effort to increase the mailback rate of the 2010 Census, the Census Bureau has announced that a second mailing of the standard 10 question form will be going out to areas that had a low mailback rate in 2000. Consumers who receive a second form in the mail, but already filled out and returned their questionnaire last month, can simply ingore it. For others, this is a second chance to avoid a census worker paying you a visit at your front door.
In the event that you receive multiple forms or still haven't gotten around to filling out the first form, just send 1 form back and discard the other. And also a friendly reminder, watch out for phony census workers. BBB has received reports from Oklahoma and Alabama of people impersonating workers in order to gain social security numbers. The Census Bureau does not need your SSN, credit card or bank account numbers.
