Census Day is April 1, 2010 and most people will begin to receive their questionnaires in the mail in the next couple of weeks. But before that happens, you may notice another piece of mail from the US Census Bureau that looks like this...

BBB wants you to know there is nothing phony about the letter and it is part of the US Census Bureau's plan to get as many as possible to mail back their questionnaires. Only 72% of the country returned their 2000 Census form and every 1% increase in mailback saves $85 million. This is just phase 1 of 4 for the 2010 Census which will include your questionnaire being mailed, a reminder postcard sent to your home and ultimately a visit from a Census worker if you don't return your form.
