BBB Tips on Hiring an Exterminator

In light of the fact that bedbugs are making headlines across the country and creating urgent requests for pest control, BBB warns all consumers and business owners to research exterminators in advance to find a pest control company they trust before an infestation is discovered. According to a recent survey by the Pest Management Association, 95 percent of exterminators have encountered a bed bug infestation in the past year, compared to only 25 percent just 10 years ago. While homes are the most common place for infestations, bedbugs also invade hotels, movie theaters, clothing stores and offices.

Be Prepared for Flu Season 2009

This year’s flu season is generating considerable attention due to the addition of H1N1 or “swine flu” to the normal seasonal flu concerns. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, most flu seasons peak in January, but outbreaks can begin to occur as early as October. This year, the CDC says consumers will need a separate vaccination for “swine flu” which should be available in October.
